48 Hours Later...

Hey everyone, I sent the money to Child's Play a few minutes ago, I also asked them to send an email confirming they received a payment. In the end $327.85 were raised! I want to thank all of the viewers and everyone in the chat for being awesome, and thanks to everyone who donated:

Mathew Montgomery
Kevin Tan

Leonardo Jones
Renee Richards

James LeRoy
Rachel Oliver
Drew Izzard
David Demers
Sean M. DeFlora
Christopher Clark
Gus Zimmerman
Ryan Land
J Lockyer-Cotter
Joe Puopolo
Kara Au
Trey Gehrig
Christopher J Short
Isaias Lopez
Francisco Sauceda

Thanks to Dale North at Detructoid and Kevin Cassidy of GoNintendo for writing stories about the event, thanks Kristin Lindsay at Child's Play and Shaun Appleby for answering my emails and helping me with various aspects of the event, and thanks to Jed, Terri, Mom and Dad for all of the support.

The winners of the points cards were Mathew Montgomery, who won the fifty dollar card, and Kevin Tan, Renee Richards, Christopher J Short, and Renee Richards, who all won $20 cards. I've sent each winner an email, and once they send me an email back with the system they'd like their points card I'll try getting the points codes to them by Friday.

EDIT: Mat Montgomery, the winner of the $50 points card, offered to donate the fifty dollars to Child's Play! I'm going to wait to see if anyone else wants to donate their prize to Child's Play, and then I'll send it all at once to avoid any extra processing fees.

Sorry guys, I just can't go on

When I first decided I wanted to do this, I didn't think things through very well. 48 hours of playing The Legend of Zelda without sleep? If I knew the experience I was going to go through, I would've set it up differently, in a way that wasn't so physically and mentally exhausting. I want to thank everyone who donated, and for all you guys who hung out in the chat with me and are disappointed that the run won't be finished, follow me on ustream, maybe one day we'll pick up where we left off for fun.

If you still want to donate, feel free. You can still be entered in the raffle, which I'll hold tomorrow at the time the stream was scheduled to end. That's also when I'll send the money to Child's Play.

I need a few hours off.

You might've seen the post from a few hours ago saying I was quitting. I don't think I'm gonna quit, but I need a few hours to recompose myself.

Zelda Marathon

Sorry guys, I won't be continuing the stream. See the newest blog post for more details.
Live Videos by Ustream

Hi, and welcome to Zelda Marathon. From Friday, April 16th at 4PM PST to Sunday, April 18th at 4PM PST I'll be playing through the four 3D Legend of Zelda games, in an attempt to raise money for Child's Play, an organization that provides children in hospitals with toys and video games. You can donate with your PayPal account through the ChipIn! button near the top of this blog. The proceeds will be sent to Child's Play at the end of the event.

Donators will also have a chance to win points cards for either the Wii, PlayStation 3, or Xbox 360. Anyone who donates at least five dollars will be entered in a raffle to win one of three $20 card, or one $50 card. (Points will only work on North American consoles) The winners will be contacted by their PayPal email account to ask which system they would like their points cards for, and an email will be sent back to them with the download code for their points.

Though it isn't on this page, you can click the UStream window to go to the ustream page and watch it from there, where you'll also be able to see the UStream chat. I'll be responding to things said in the chat when I have time to look at it.

Please donate, every dollar helps!
